On 22, 23 and 24 January, Daishin Kashimoto will perform Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No. 1 as soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic under Lahav Shani.

Daishin Kashimoto has been principal concertmaster of the Berliner Philharmoniker for over 15 years. He regularly takes on the role of soloist in concerts with the orchestra, for example in the past with Mozart’s Sinfonia concertante at the Grafenegg Festival and the Lucerne Festival, with Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1 under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle, and with Tchaikovsky’s Sérénade mélancolique and Valse Scherzo at the Berlin Waldbühne.

On 22, 23 and 24 January, he will now play the solo part in Shostakovich's expressive Violin Concerto No. 1. Ives' The Unanswered Question and Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 ‘From the New World’ will also be performed at the Philharmonie Berlin.
